Frequently Asked Questions

How many fish are we going to catch?

This is probably one of the most asked questions we receive. We do everything in our power to put you in the best position to catch fish based on the season and sea conditions. As experienced fly anglers know, some days you get one shot a a fish and others there are fish everywhere. The surf fishery near Destin and 30A are no exception, as some days you will get plenty of opportunities, while others you may only see a handful of fish. From there a perfect cast, proper presentation, and the right fly will dictate your success rate.

Do I need to bring my own gear?

No! While you are more than welcome to bring your own gear, whether you are walking the beach on a fly fishing trip or light tackle sight fishing trip, or hanging bait on set rigs, we will provide all rods, reels, line, bait, and other terminal tackle.

How much do I tip my guide?

This is completely up to you and how hard you think your guide worked for you, however, 20% of the trip cost is customary.

What should I bring on our fishing trip?

The items that you should bring will vary slightly based on the type of trip that book. Below is a list of items that we suggest you bring regardless of your trip type. If you have booked a surf fishing trip I also suggest that you bring any beach chairs if you wish to sit while we wait for the next bite!

-Sunscreen

-Polarized Sunglasses

-Hat

-Drinks or Snacks

-Towels, just in case you decide to go for a swim

Do I need a fishing license?
